Western Maine Cash Mob Hits Norway Opera House
Last Saturday Oxford Hills residents met for July’s Western Maine Cash Mob. Sixty-six people met in the Norway Municipal Parking Lot behind Fare Share.
The mobbers then walked across the street to the shops at the Norway Opera House, ready to spend their $20.
Stores at the Opera House included Gatherings, The Raven Collections, Fiber and Vine, and Rough and Tumble. The 66 mobbers spent $2700!
After the mob, everyone gathered in the courtyard across the street for the after mob party. The refreshments were made by Cafe Nomad and sponsored by W.J. Wheeler. Refreshments included maple scones, bagels and cream cheese, and caprese skewers with basil, tomato, and mozzarella.
The after mob party included prizes from local businesses. These prizes included coolers donated by the Oxford Federal Credit Union, a candle from Casco Candles, gift certificates from Maine C&C Farm, gift certificates from Captain Bly’s Tavern, gift certificates from Books n’ Things, tickets to a show at the Celebration Barn Theater, and a filled propane grilling tank from Everett Propane.
