Something’s coming, and it’s gonna be great! What is it? The West Side Story musical is coming to Buckfield High School.

The play, sponsored in part by W.J. Wheeler’s April nonprofit featured partner the Nezinscot Valley Music Boosters, opened March 29. Don’t worry, though, there’s still time to catch a showing. West Side Story runs through this weekend.

The Pecan Pie Recipe You've Been Waiting For

Posted: 4/2/2013 2:00:00 AM
I consider myself a true Mainer. Not only was I born and raised here, but I come from a long line of Mainers. On my dad’s side, we’ve been here since the 1700s, at least. However, I can’t escape the fact that I have Southern blood from my Georgian mother. One of the benefits to having both cultures in my heritage is the plethora of food choices I’m used too. For example, I grew up eating true southern pecan pie.

April is National Pecan Month. Even though this designation confuses me (pecans have Fall harvest, not a Spring one), my Southern blood can’t help but take advantage of the chance to pull out my great-grandmother’s pecan pie recipe.
